Communication Data

Communication data reveals activities such as web history, which indicates political affiliations, medical conditions, and religious viewpoints. News sites, forums, purchased items, read books, watched movies, and video games reveal intimate details about how a person thinks. IMSI data is more likely to be linked to an individual as IP addresses can change and people don’t lend out their phones or SIM cards. Some applications such as Fitbit, and Garmin transmitted personalizing data such as the IMEI number and the phone serial number.[^1] The more that we move to digital-based communication methods, the easier it is to determine what is said between people.
