First 3D Animation

“That thing that walks like a creepy spider is kinda cute.” -no one

I’ve been dipping my toes into the world of 3D animation and what a world it is! After following a few Youtube tutorials my final result is this dark creepy spider thing. I hope to improve it as I learn more about the 3d modeling software.

A Note on 3D Modeling Software:

There are many options to choose from when picking a software tool for 3D modeling. Some of the ones that I have used are: Blender, 3ds Max, Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, Solid Edge, Spaceclaim, Siemens NX. They are all unique in their own ways and are mostly used for different purposes. I started using Blender and 3ds Max for animation. Fusion 360 is very user friendly and I like to use that for 3D printing projects. Spaceclaim, NX, and Inventor are all very powerful professional software tools that are used in various engineering industries.

If you’re looking to get into the world of 3D modeling and CAD I would suggest spending a few hours trying out simple tasks on any software that you have access to. (some of the professional software tools have a student license) I’ve learned a ton of tricks by taking a button or operation from one program and trying to figure out how to perform the exact same steps in another program. This is a good way to learn the menus, views, and other basic aspects of 3d Design software.
