HEU can give a compact reactor with enough reactivity to overcome the xenon dead-time for quick restarts.[1] This also gives a long burnup between refuelings.[1] The enrichment level indicates the fraction of the U235 in the total amount of uranium.
[[USS Nautilus SSN-571]] – used HEU
[[Naval Reactor Fuel]] – used 93% HEU
