Mi-24 Transmission

The Mi-24 gearbox uses a compound planetary final reduction stage. This has a high torque and good load-sharing benefits.[^1] First a spur gear combines the torques from the two turboshaft engines.[^1] The second stage is a bevel gear train.[^1] The third and 4th stages are compound planetary stages.[^1] The rotor RPM was 240 and the transmitted ratio is 50.[^1] The gearbox weighs 690 kg and has a quality value of 0.35.[^1]
