The XQ-58A is a low-cost high-performance UAV developed by Kratos, and the AFRL.[^1] The AFRL provided turbine inlet integration, structural testing and evaluation of the electrical and control systems.[^1] Kratos designed and produced the aircraft.[^1] It will be less expensive to operate when compared to traditional vehicles.[^1] It is designed for high-speeds and agility.[^1] It is runway independent.[^1] it took 2.5 years from contract award to first flight.[^1] It’s first flight was March 5 2019.[^1] It will be used as a communications gateway between 5th-generation aircraft, and a forward layered sensing aircraft[^1]
