A critical part of the design of a DFBW system is the electrical-mechanical interface. This is typically accomplished with hydraulic actuators that are modulated by a control valve. Phase lags and time delays can cause Pilot-induced oscillations in the flight control system. Control interceptor types include columns, wheels, sidesticks, as well as an active or passive feel.
