When you are performing a grid fin simulation you can use the symmetry to only simulate a half plane, therefore improving computational resource usage.[^1] An implicit compressible, unstructured-grid solver may be used.[^1] as well as Spalart-Allmaras turbulence modeling.[^1] The viscous and pressure forces are integrated along the surface of the missile and fin to calculate aerodynamic coefficients.[^1] You can use a finer mesh near the body to reduce the computational requirements.[^2]
